|

The Barber Harness Shed contains a range of Horse Drawn Carts Carriages and Implements owned by Brian Barber.
Horses were essential to the development of the region.
Before the Iron Knob tramway was built during 1901, all iron ore shipments were carried in waggons drawn either by horses
or bullocks to Port Augusta, and then travelled
to Port Pirie by rail via the Pitchie Ritchie Pass through Quorn and Peterborough. The ore was used as a flux in the lead Smelters.
