The Steam Loco at the Museum was built in England by Beyer & Peacock.
Bought new in 1891 by BHP and transferred from Broken Hill to Hummock Hill (now Whyalla)
in 1902. This Loco hauled 28 trucks of (nominally) 10 tons. Withdrawn from service in
April 1962 it was placed at the Whyalla foreshore. It was relocated to the Museum in 1983.
The ore Truck is thought to be a 15 ton unit later used as a ballast waggon.
The carriage ( Below ) is a new acquisition. Until recently, it was used as a restaurant. It is to be fitted out to exhibit Iron Knob - Hummock Hill Tramway memorabilia
